FUTA Condemns EFCC Midnight Raid on Students

The Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), has expressed its disapproval of the invasion of some student off-campus hostels by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The incident, which occurred at about 2 am on Wednesday in the Orita Obele area of Akure, led to the arrest of some students by the EFCC operatives.
In a statement issued by the university's Director of Corporate Communications, Mr. Adegbenro Adebanjo, FUTA clarified that the EFCC operatives did not invade the university premises but rather conducted the operation in private hostels off-campus where some FUTA students reside.
