The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration) of the University of Ibadan, Professor Peter O. Olapegba, has called on Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows Alumni Association of Nigeria (COSFAN) members to collaborate in addressing pressing national issues. Speaking on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, during a COSFAN event, Professor Olapegba emphasized that government scholarships represent a significant investment, and scholars must repay this by offering solutions to the country's challenges.

He urged the scholars to come together and use their expertise to contribute meaningfully to national development, reaffirming the importance of their collective efforts in ensuring the success of government-led initiatives.

UI Don Advocates for Consistent Educational Policy Implementation

In her valedictory address marking her retirement, Professor Adebola Olufunlayo Jaiyeoba of the University of Ibadan called for greater consistency in policy implementation within Nigeria’s educational sector. She urged against frequent changes by successive governments, stressing the need for a stable policy environment to tackle the sector's challenges effectively.

Professor Jaiyeoba also emphasized the importance of public awareness during policy rollouts and urged better funding in alignment with UNESCO guidelines. She encouraged her colleagues in educational management to continue striving for excellence in teaching, research, and community service, which are crucial to improving the administration of education in Nigeria.

In a guest lecture delivered in her honor, Professor Simeon Adebayo Oladipo, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Lagos, discussed the potential of digital transformation in Nigerian higher education, highlighting the opportunities for growth and innovation in addressing societal challenges.
