Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced significant farewell gifts and pledges for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members during the Passing-Out Parade/Closing Ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Corps Members. Governor Sanwo-Olu unveiled his plans to provide each departing Corps member with N100,000 as a farewell gift. Governor Sanwo-Olu also promised automatic employment into the Lagos Public Service for the top 100 Corps members of this batch.

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has announced significant farewell gifts and pledges for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members during the Passing-Out Parade/Closing Ceremony for the 2024 Batch ‘B’ Stream 1 Corps Members.

Addressing the ceremony as the special guest of honour at the NYSC Orientation Camp in Iyana Ipaja on Tuesday, June 16, Governor Sanwo-Olu unveiled his plans to provide each departing Corps member with N100,000 as a farewell gift. Additionally, he allocated N100 million for the NYSC support staff and donated a 32-Seater Hyundai Bus to the camp.

Furthermore, Governor Sanwo-Olu pledged a substantial sum of N5 billion towards the construction of a permanent site for the NYSC Orientation Camp in Lagos State, emphasizing his administration's commitment to improving facilities for youth development programs.

"This year alone, I will be making available a total of N5 billion to start the full development of the permanent site for NYSC," Governor Sanwo-Olu announced during his speech.

He assured the Corps members that the N100,000 farewell gift would be disbursed directly into their accounts by the following week, recognizing their hard work and dedication throughout their service year.

"For this batch, we have 4,254 Corps members, and each and every one of you will go home with N100,000. The money will be made available into your accounts by next week, and your directors will credit your accounts," Governor Sanwo-Olu affirmed.

In a bid to encourage excellence and reward outstanding performance, Governor Sanwo-Olu also promised automatic employment into the Lagos Public Service for the top 100 Corps members of this batch.
