The announcement was made during an inspection of the Government Girls Secondary School in Albasu Local Government Area on Monday.
Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has restored the boarding status of 15 girls’ secondary schools previously removed by the former administration of Abdullahi Ganduje. The announcement was made during an inspection of the Government Girls Secondary School in Albasu Local Government Area on Monday.
Governor Yusuf criticized the previous administration's decision, which he said disrupted the education of many talented girls. He directed the Ministry of Education to urgently assign teachers in English Language, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences to the schools.
Rehabilitation work is already underway to prepare the re-boarded schools for the upcoming academic session. The governor also pledged continued investment in building and upgrading classrooms to enhance the learning environment across the state.
Additionally, Yusuf inspected progress on the five-kilometer Albasu road project, which is nearing completion. He urged the contractor to expedite the remaining work.
