The Vice Chancellor of IAUE, Professor Okechuku Onuchuku has assured the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) of greater collaboration and sustainable information technology development in the University, Myschoolnews report.
The Vice Chancellor gave the assurance when he received the President of the Nigerian Computer Science Professor Adesina Simon Sodiya on a courtesy visit on Wednesday August 24, 2023 at the Council Chambers.
He hinted that programmes such as computer software engineering, cyber security, data science and many more others will be developed for the Department of Computer Science.
Professor Onuchuku who thanked the President for the visit added that plans were on to making the university a standard institution in the area of information technology and evolving solutions.
In his remarks, the President of the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS) Professor Adesina Simon Sodiya expressed appreciation to the Vice Chancellor for sponsoring some members to the 2023 Nigerian Computer Society international conference which held at Bauchi State.
He informed the Vice Chancellor that two IAUE professionals in information technology namely the ICTC Director Dr Nathaniel Ojekudo and Dr Emmanuel Aburuotu an nformation technology practitioner were inducted into the Nigerian Computer Society during the international conference of the body at Bauchi State.
The Professor of Computer Science and information security in the Department of Computer Science University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Ogun State also lauded the Vice Chancellor for the appointment of a member of the Nigerian Computer Society Dr Nathaniel Ojekudo as the IAUE ICTC Director adding that it is a step in the right direction.
