IHS Towers, a leading telecoms infrastructure provider, has partnered with the Limitless Space Institute (LSI) of the United States to train ten Nigerian secondary school teachers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education, with a focus on space technology. The training program aims to enhance technological knowledge among teachers, ultimately benefiting their students across Nigeria.

During a global educators’ event held in Lagos, Kaci Heinz, Executive Director at LSI, announced that over 200 teachers applied for the training, but only ten were selected from various public schools in Nigeria. These teachers will join an equal number from Brazil for a comprehensive 12-month training session under the Global Educators Programme. The first six months of training will take place in Houston, Texas, while the remaining six months will be conducted in Nigeria, concluding in December 2024.

Heinz emphasized the importance of space technology in STEM education, stating, “Limitless Space Institute is dedicated to training secondary school teachers globally in STEM education from the perspective of space technology education. We are thrilled to collaborate with IHS Nigeria to train teachers who will, in turn, impart this knowledge to their students.”
