IMAP Begins Sales of Affordable Rice to Staff, Students, Others

Isa Mustapha Agwai I Polytechnic Lafia (IMAP) has launched the sale of its locally produced IMAP Consult Parboiled Rice, a high-quality, affordable, and stone-free product aimed at alleviating the impact of rising food prices globally. The rice will be available to staff, students, and the public in a bid to reduce the cost of living and improve the welfare of the Polytechnic community.

The initiative was officially flagged off by the Acting Rector of IMAP, Dr. Nurudeen Mu'azu Maifata, who explained that the project is part of the institution’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship, encouraging local production, and promoting consumption of locally grown products. Dr. Maifata emphasized that the Polytechnic prioritizes creativity and productivity in addressing social issues, particularly in the face of the ongoing economic challenges.

Dr. Maifata further revealed that staff members would be allowed to purchase the rice in installments, thus offering financial relief to help mitigate the ongoing economic difficulties. He also encouraged the public to take advantage of the opportunity to purchase the rice, assuring them of its quality.

Speaking on the initiative, Dr. Ilah Obadiah, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), commended the Rector for his foresight and productivity in addressing the needs of both staff and students. He expressed his gratitude for the introduction of such schemes, which significantly ease the economic burden on the Polytechnic community.

The IMAP Consult Parboiled Rice is available in 10kg, 25kg, and 50kg packs and can be purchased from the IMAP Consult.
