JAMB has successfully conducted the 2026 foreign UTME for 379 candidates across 10 international centres, expanding access to Nigerian tertiary institutions worldwideThe Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has successfully conducted the foreign component of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) for Nigerians and foreign nationals seeking admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
The examination was held on Friday, May 15, and Saturday, May 16, 2026, across designated foreign centres located in several countries. However, the examinations scheduled for Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Buea, Cameroon, were postponed due to unforeseen circumstances that prevented the centres from participating alongside others. JAMB said new dates for the affected centres would be announced later.
The foreign UTME centres include London, United Kingdom; Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso; Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire; Malabo, Equatorial Guinea; Banjul, The Gambia; Accra, Ghana; Cotonou, Benin Republic; Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; Buea, Cameroon; and Johannesburg, South Africa.

According to the examination body, a total of 379 candidates registered for the exercise across the ten foreign centres.
JAMB noted that the foreign UTME initiative was introduced to position Nigerian tertiary institutions within the global education market and expand access to Nigerian higher education for qualified candidates outside the country.
The Board added that the initiative has continued to attract growing interest from foreign nationals who seek admission into Nigerian universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
To ensure a smooth and credible examination process, JAMB deployed its officials to the various foreign centres to monitor and supervise the conduct of the exercise.
The successful administration of the foreign UTME underscores JAMB’s commitment to expanding educational opportunities and strengthening the international visibility of Nigeria’s tertiary education system.
