JAMB Debunks False Claims on Suspension of Monsuru Aduragbemi’s Profile, Warns Against Misinformation

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has debunked viral reports alleging that it suspended the account of one Monsuru Aliat Aduragbemi (wrongly referred to as Monsura Allat Aduragbemi) in violation of a court order.

In a statement, the Board described the publication as “deliberate misinformation” sponsored by a “known conflict entrepreneur” seeking to mislead the public and exploit unsuspecting individuals for personal gain and attention.

JAMB clarified that a court order had directed all parties to maintain the status quo—meaning that no action should be taken either to the advantage or disadvantage of the candidate or the two institutions involved, namely Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) and the University of Lagos (UNILAG).

According to the Board, the status quo as of 25th September 2025, when the suit was filed, and 30th September 2025, when the order was given, was that the candidate had, of her own accord, ceased to be associated with either OAU or UNILAG.

JAMB stated that it merely upheld the court order by preventing any modification of the candidate’s admission details to reflect a fraudulent change into one of the universities.

The agency further explained that the “suspension message” being circulated was a default system-generated notification automatically triggered whenever any profile becomes restricted from alterations—whether by JAMB officials, institutions, or the candidate.

The Board reiterated its commitment to transparency and compliance with lawful directives, warning the public to disregard misleading reports and avoid being manipulated by individuals profiting from fabricated controversies.
