JAMB Registrar Condemns Private Schools for UTME Extortion and Data Mismanagement

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Professor Ishaq Oloyede, strongly criticized certain private secondary schools for allegedly extorting candidates and mismanaging their data during the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). In an interview on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Oloyede emphasized that UTME is not school-based, and schools should not register students collectively or charge fees higher than the approved government rate.

Additionally, he addressed the creation of UTME centers for Persons With Disabilities (PWDs), aiming to provide equal opportunities for all candidates.
