Kaduna Polytechnic Releases Timetable FOR SUG Election

The Electoral Committee (ELCOM) of the Students' Union Government (SUG) at Kaduna Polytechnic has announced the election timetable for the upcoming 2024/2025 academic session. The committee urges all students and the polytechnic community to take note of the important dates and requirements.

According to the timetable, the sales of nomination forms will commence from October 14 to October 20, 2024. Candidates must submit their nomination forms between October 15 and October 21, 2024. The sales of forms will close on October 25, 2024, followed by the screening of candidates on October 26. The publication of qualified candidates is scheduled for October 27, 2024.

Candidates will be allowed to campaign from October 16 to October 30, 2024, leading up to the Manifesto Presentation Day on October 29, 2024. The elections will take place on October 31, 2024. 

Candidates aspiring for various positions, including President, Vice President, Secretary General, and other executive roles, must meet specific academic qualifications. These include a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.50 for most positions, with fees for nomination forms ranging from N12,000 to N30,000, depending on the position.

The committee has laid down strict rules and regulations for the election process. All aspirants must fill out an undertaking form and undergo screening before the elections. Notably, campaigning is prohibited on election day, and no campaign materials should be posted within the school environment.
