Kaduna State University (KASU) recently led a vital national dialogue on Nigeria’s socio-economic future, hosting its inaugural National Multi-Disciplinary Conference on November 6, 2024. The event, themed “Exploring Future Socio-Economic Advancement, Innovation, and Sustainable Solutions in Nigeria,” gathered dignitaries, academics, and students to discuss challenges and pathways to sustainable development.

In his opening remarks, Dr. Mohammed Bello Idris, Conference Secretary, expressed hope for actionable outcomes to address Nigeria’s pressing issues. Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdullahi I. Musa, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Prof. Helen A. Andow underscored the importance of translating research into impactful solutions and highlighted KASU’s commitment to excellence in teaching and research.

Dr. Stephen A. James, Director of the Institute of Science, Technology, and Management Studies, lauded the event as a milestone for KASU’s research and knowledge exchange initiatives. Keynote speaker Hon. Bello Mohammed Bello El-Rufai, represented by Dr. Umar Sambo, emphasized reducing economic disparities and promoting fair governance.

Chindo, Director of Research and Development, reiterated KASU’s aim to become a research-driven institution.
