The Vice-Chancellor of Kashim Ibrahim University, Professor Babagana Gutti, has issued a strong condemnation of the recent bomb explosion in Maiduguri, which resulted in the tragic loss of lives and multiple injuries.

In a statement released on behalf of the University’s Council, Senate, Management, Staff, and Students, the Vice-Chancellor described the blast as a "senseless act of violence" that has no place in a civilized society.

Professor Gutti emphasized that the incident serves as a grim reminder of the necessity for constant vigilance and collective action to protect local communities. "Such acts of violence must be unequivocally rejected by all," the statement noted, urging residents of Borno State to remain calm, law-abiding, and security-conscious during this period.

The University extended its deepest sympathies to the families of the deceased. Professor Gutti offered prayers for the departed, asking for eternal rest and for the families to find the fortitude to bear their irreparable loss.

He also offered special prayers for the quick recovery of those currently receiving treatment for injuries sustained in the blast, asking for healing and comfort for all affected.

The institution reaffirmed its total solidarity with the Government and people of Borno State. The Vice-Chancellor concluded by praying for the continued prevalence of peace, unity, and stability across the state and the entire nation.
