The Bursary Department of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN) recently held a three-day capacity-building training for bursary and internal audit staff from Wednesday, 14th January to Friday, 16th January 2026.
The programme convened participants from KHAIRUN and sister universities across Kano State, providing a forum for knowledge exchange, professional development, and the reinforcement of best practices in financial management and internal controls within tertiary institutions.
In his opening remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdulrashid Garba highlighted the critical role of continuous staff development in promoting transparency, accountability, and operational efficiency in university financial administration. He commended the Bursary Department for spearheading the initiative and praised the Bursar for her commitment to empowering staff.
The Bursar, Dr. Naja’atu Bala Rabiu, delivered the vote of thanks, acknowledging the university management for its support and commending participants for their engagement throughout the training. She reaffirmed the Bursary Department’s dedication to ongoing professional development and institutional excellence.
