Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano (KHAIRUN), has matriculated newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session, marking the third matriculation ceremony in the history of the institution.
During his speech, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, congratulated the newly admitted students on securing admission into the university, describing the achievement as a product of merit and hard work. He charged them to remain disciplined, focused, and committed to academic excellence throughout their stay at the university.
The Vice-Chancellor reiterated that KHAIRUN operates with the standards and academic rigor of federal universities, stressing that admissions and academic progression are strictly merit based. He assured parents and students of the university’s full compliance with NUC regulations, including the approved Academic Brief and the implementation of the Core Curriculum Minimum Academic Standards (CCMAS).
He further assured the university community of adequate campus security, noting that KHAIRUN runs a 24-hour security system supported by trained personnel and collaboration with public security agencies to ensure a safe learning environment. Highlighting academic development, the Vice-Chancellor stated that the university’s curriculum places strong emphasis on entrepreneurship, moral and Qur’anic values, and internationalisation, aimed at producing graduates who are disciplined, self reliant, and globally competitive.
Prof. Garba added that the university has continued to invest in ICT infrastructure and learning facilities, including smart classrooms, a functional university website, multiple internet access points, and an upgraded e-library to support teaching, learning, and research.
He concluded by urging the matriculating students to be worthy ambassadors of the university and to uphold its core values of discipline, integrity, and academic excellence.
