Kogi Poly Rector Prof. Usman Praises Gov. Ododo for N72,500 Minimum Wage Implementation

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, has commended the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for his approval of a new minimum wage of N72,500 and the implementation of the Kogi State Health Insurance Scheme for workers. 

During a Management Meeting held on Wednesday, 9th October 2024, at the Conference Room of the Academic Complex, Main Campus, Lokoja, Professor Usman expressed the Polytechnic community’s gratitude towards the Governor’s initiatives. He described the Governor's decision as historic, noting that Kogi State is among the few states to implement such a significant wage increase.

Professor Usman praised the wage approval as a positive development resulting from the government’s commitment to continuity and consolidation. He further commended the health insurance scheme, emphasizing that it highlights the administration's focus on workers' welfare during these challenging economic times.

The Rector affirmed that Kogi State workers, especially staff of Kogi State Polytechnic, are deeply appreciative of the Governor's support. He also reiterated the institution's unwavering support for Governor Ododo's administration and its efforts to improve workers' welfare.
