Kogi State Government Condemns FULOKOJA Accident, Assures Urgent Action

Kogi State Deputy Governor, His Excellency Comrade Salifu Joel Oyibo, and the Vice-Chancellor of Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, addressed students at the university's main gate earlier today, condemning the tragic accident that occurred along Felele highway yesterday.

The accident claimed the lives of innocent FUL students, disrupting academic activities and throwing the university community into mourning.

The Deputy Governor expressed his deepest sadness over the incident and assured the student community that the state government is taking urgent measures to comprehensively address the recurring accidents along the Felele axis. In response to students' concerns, the state government has constituted a high-powered committee comprising university management, students' union leaders, the state security adviser, commissioner for education, and relevant stakeholders. The committee convened an emergency meeting at the Government House to find a lasting solution to such incidents, particularly along federal and state-owned tertiary institutions.
