Kwara State University Senior Citizens Centre Graduates 65 Professional Caregivers

The Kwara State University Senior Citizens Centre (KSCC) has graduated 65 professional diploma holders in caregiving and health care assistance.

The graduation and induction ceremony, held on July 31, 2025, at the Kwara State University Teaching Hospital, marked a significant milestone in the institution's drive to deliver practical and impactful education.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, described the graduation as a vital step in addressing the growing global demand for qualified caregivers. He emphasized that the professional diploma program equips graduates to serve in a field where skill and compassion are essential.

Professor Jimoh urged the new professionals to approach their work with humility and honor, upholding the ethics and values of service to humanity. The Director of the Centre, Dr. Nimat Bola Idris, highlighted that caregiving requires a combination of technical skills and psychological understanding, ensuring that caregivers deliver comfort and care with empathy.

The Chairman of the KSCC Board, Professor Emmanuel Ajani, noted that the Centre has contributed to the university's internally generated revenue, created jobs for its alumni, and advanced its mission of supporting the elderly community.

The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of diplomas to the inducted caregivers and certificates to the management of Kwara State University, led by the Vice-Chancellor, who participated in the Executive Course in Caregiving and Healthy Ageing.
