Several students from Oke Afa Comprehensive College in Isolo, Lagos, are expressing frustration over the non-release of their West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results. More than 200 students who appeared for the exam are affected.

Some affected students who secured admission to higher institutions were shocked to find out about the issue during the admission process. Taiwo Adewole, admitted to the University Of Osun State, Osogbo, had paid acceptance fees and other charges before realizing his WASSCE result was marked as 'indebted.'

The school's principal, Mrs. Rafat Ogunbiyi, declined to comment, instructing reporters to visit the school. The West African Examination Council (WAEC) responded that the school owes fees.

A Lagos State Ministry of Education staff member explained that the state government covered WASSCE fees for all SS three students and suggested that the school might have violated WAEC rules, resulting in the 'indebted' status. The government is expected to address the issue by covering the outstanding fees.
