Ogun State is grappling with a surge in cultism, armed robberies, and kidnappings, causing heightened anxiety among residents. In the last three months, the state has witnessed a series of senseless cult killings and armed robberies, leaving many dead and traumatized.

The resurgence of cult clashes in Sagamu resulted in multiple casualties, with clashes reported between the Eiye confraternity and the Aiye group. Subsequent months saw continued violence, including armed robberies and a disturbing incident at Tai Solarin University of Education, where four students were robbed and raped.

Residents are expressing deep concerns over the growing insecurity, urging Governor Dapo Abiodun and security agencies to take decisive action. The recent incidents have led to the closure of the Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade, and increased calls for a comprehensive review of the state's security architecture.

The Governor, responding to concerns, reassured the public of his administration's commitment to students' safety and pledged to root out criminals. However, residents are calling for urgent and effective measures to address the escalating security challenges.
