LASU Vice-Chancellor Urges Staff to Adhere to Due Process in Upcoming Admission Clearance

At an interactive session held on Thursday, 3rd October 2024, the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, called on staff to maintain strict adherence to due process in the upcoming LASU Central Admission Clearance Application (LACACA) for the 2024/2025 academic session.

At an interactive session held on Thursday, 3rd October 2024, the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, called on staff to maintain strict adherence to due process in the upcoming LASU Central Admission Clearance Application (LACACA) for the 2024/2025 academic session. The meeting, which took place in the Senate Chamber of the Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building at LASU’s main campus in Ojo, highlighted the importance of accountability and efficiency in handling the final stage of the admission process.

The session, conducted in collaboration with the Director of the Directorate of Information and Communication Technology (DICT), Prof. Toyin Enikuomehin, was aimed at outlining the procedures and expectations for the LACACA exercise. Prof. Enikuomehin, in his welcome address, praised the dedication of the Vice-Chancellor and the commitment of staff members involved in the process.

In her remarks, Prof. Olatunji-Bello stressed the significance of LACACA as a vital part of the admission lifecycle, ensuring that all admitted students are properly cleared before receiving their matriculation numbers. She urged staff to avoid using proxies in their duties, emphasizing that every activity is tracked in the system for transparency and accountability.

"Every officer must remain committed to their specific roles, avoid preferential treatment, and adhere strictly to the designated workflows to enhance efficiency and prevent delays," she said. The Vice-Chancellor also advised the team to be mindful of time, aiming to complete the clearance process before the commencement of academic activities on Monday, 18th November 2024.

Prof. Olatunji-Bello expressed confidence in the DICT team, directing the department to offer full support for a seamless LACACA operation. She called for thorough reviews during the clearance process, while ensuring that no aspect of due diligence is overlooked. This, she noted, will guarantee that students are cleared in a timely and accurate manner.

The session was attended by Deans of Faculties, Faculty Officers, and DICT staff, with the Registrar, Mr. Emmanuel A. FANU, giving a vote of thanks, appreciating the Vice-Chancellor's leadership and the contributions of all stakeholders involved in making the clearance process successful.
