The High Commission Delegation had formally introduced Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS), a subsidiary of the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education, as a key partner for connecting Nigerian institutions to Malaysian universities and supporting student mobility.

EMGS, represented by its Director of Marketing, Esther Low, and Senior Regional Executive (Africa), Mohd Firdaus Ismail, is responsible for managing international student admissions processes in Malaysia, including visa facilitation, medical screening and insurance, while also promoting the country as a global education hub.

The delegation said the visit was part of efforts to deepen LASUCOM’s educational framework through joint research, training programmes, and articulation pathways for students and staff.

They described themselves as a bridge between LASUCOM and higher institutions in Malaysia, with links to over 400 tertiary institutions across the country.

Discussions during the visit centred on practical areas of cooperation such as joint research projects, capacity-building and training programmes, staff and student exchange, and articulation arrangements that would allow smoother academic progression between LASUCOM and Malaysian institutions.

Both sides agreed to continue engagements towards formal partnerships that could position LASUCOM for broader international exposure and improved access to global research and training networks.
