Two 300-level students from the Lagos State University College of Medicine, Semilore Osunsanmi and Laura Olatunji, have clinched the top prize in a designathon competition organized by the Washington College of Medicine in collaboration with the Nigeria Institute of Medical Research.

The duo's participation in the competition, which focused on raising awareness and promoting uptake of the Human Papillomavirus infection (HPV) vaccination, propelled them to victory ahead of thousands of other entries. Their innovative approach and unwavering dedication to HPV awareness not only secured them the coveted championship but also earned them recognition for the Most Innovative Idea and Audience Choice Awards.

As a result of their outstanding achievement, Semilore and Laura were awarded the prestigious sum of Five Hundred Thousand Naira (N500,000). Their remarkable success underscores their commitment to addressing critical health issues and making a tangible impact on public health.
