McPherson University Welcomes 551 New Students at 12th Matriculation Ceremony

McPherson University, located in Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has ushered in a new cohort of students for the 2023/2024 academic session during its 12th matriculation ceremony held at the University Multipurpose Hall.

Amidst an atmosphere of enthusiasm and anticipation, the matriculants, adorned in their elegant gowns, solemnly took their matriculation oath administered by Mr. Olufemi Adebowale, the acting registrar of the institution.

In a statement of commitment, the newly admitted students pledged to uphold principles of good conduct and ensure harmonious coexistence with all members of the university community.

Prior to the oath-taking, the vice-chancellor, Prof Francis Igbasan, acting on behalf of the Senate of McPherson University, formally admitted the matriculating students as bona fide members of the institution.

Furthermore, Prof Igbasan cautioned the students against actions that could jeopardize their academic pursuits, emphasizing the significance of their choice of companions both on campus and in virtual spaces.

In line with the university's faith-based ethos, the vice-chancellor encouraged the matriculants to actively engage in spiritual activities organized by the University Chaplaincy, underscoring the importance of nurturing their relationship with God.

Highlighting the significant milestone, Prof Igbasan disclosed that a total of 551 students were successfully admitted and matriculated across the university's six colleges, including the Centre for Continuous Education (Part-Time). He expressed appreciation to parents, guardians, and other guests in attendance, noting the positive trajectory reflected in the increased matriculation figures compared to the previous year.
