Minister Urges Corps Members to Channel Talents to Productive Ventures

The Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr Mariya Mahmoud, has called on corps members to utilize their talents for the benefit of the nation. Speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2023 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course at the Kubwa Orientation Camp in Abuja, the minister emphasized the importance of a united, prosperous, and productive nation.

The minister highlighted the paramount importance of security, assuring the Corps members of the FCT Administration's commitment to providing a peaceful environment for their service. She urged them to settle down quickly in their respective places of primary assignments and contribute to the nation's growth.

FCT Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Winifred Shokpeka, noted that corps members have been posted according to their areas of discipline and specialization across the six area councils of the FCT. She called on employers to judiciously utilize corps members and familiarize themselves with the NYSC policy and guidelines.

The three-week orientation course featured competitions in sports, drama, drills, and talents, aiming to prepare corps members for a profitable independent life and reduce post-service unemployment.
