MLSCN, RRBN Induct 33 Pioneer Graduates of Medical Laboratory Science, Radiography at ABU Zaria
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, held a historic induction ceremony for 33 pioneer graduates from its Departments of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography on February 10, 2025. The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) inducted 22 graduates, while the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) inducted 11.

Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, has inducted 33 pioneer graduates from its Departments of Medical Laboratory Science and Radiography in a historic ceremony held on Monday, February 10, 2025.
The event, which took place at the Yusufu Bala Usman Hall, Main Campus, Samaru Zaria, marked a significant milestone for the two departments that began in 2017. The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) inducted 22 graduates, while the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) inducted 11 graduates.
Vice-Chancellor of Ahmadu Bello University, Prof. Kabiru Bala, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Ahmed Doko Ibrahim, described the induction as a testament to the university’s commitment to academic excellence. He highlighted the remarkable growth of the two departments, which have now attained full accreditation and expanded their academic staff from four to over 30.
The Chairman of the occasion, Prof. Abdulmumini Hassan Rafindadi, commended the university management for its unwavering support in providing infrastructure and resources that have facilitated the success of the programs.
Registrar of MLSCN, Prof. Tosan Erhabor, represented by Dr. Akinwale Akinlabi, conducted the induction for Medical Laboratory Science graduates, while Registrar of RRBN, Prof. Mark Chukwudi Okeji, represented by Dr. Ejimofor Malachy Chukwudi, inducted the Radiography graduates.
The Heads of both departments, Dr. Abdurrahman Ahmad El-Fulaty (Medical Laboratory Science) and Mohammed Yusuf Mohammed (Radiography), expressed gratitude to the university for its visionary leadership that has enabled the rapid development of their respective disciplines.
During the event, awards were presented to the best graduating students—Sulaiman Ahmad Halima (Medical Laboratory Science) and Abubakar Usman Gimba (Radiography)—for their outstanding academic achievements.
The induction ceremony was attended by principal officers, management staff, faculty members, and other distinguished guests who celebrated the graduates as they embarked on their professional careers in medical sciences.
