MTN Nigeria Foundation Awards 13,717 Scholarships to 4,949 Students in 13 Years

The MTN Nigeria Foundation has awarded 13,717 scholarships to 4,949 Nigerian students over the past 13 years, as announced by Foundation Director Mrs. Aishatu Sadauki during an award ceremony in Abuja.

In a remarkable achievement, the MTN Nigeria Foundation has awarded a total of 13,717 scholarships to 4,949 Nigerian students over the past 13 years. This milestone was announced by the Foundation Director, Mrs. Aishatu Sadauki, during an award ceremony and alumni induction held yesterday in Abuja.

Mrs. Sadauki emphasized the significance of the occasion, stating, “Today, we are graduating 380 scholars whose achievements are not only a reflection of their potential but also a contribution to the development of our great nation and beyond.” She praised the graduating scholars for their dedication to excellence, urging them to continue serving as role models for incoming students.

Highlighting the power of education, Mrs. Sadauki encouraged current scholars to leverage their experiences and connect with one another to foster a supportive community. She quoted Margaret Mead, saying, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed individuals can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has,” reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to empowering young minds.

The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, acknowledged the crucial role of such initiatives in promoting inclusivity and ensuring that individuals with disabilities are not left behind. Represented by Basirat Agbabiaka, Head of the Disability Support Unit at JAMB, he praised the partnership between JAMB and MTN, describing it as a powerful collaboration that drives societal progress.

Faith Osemeke, a beneficiary from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), expressed her gratitude for the scholarship program, which focuses on students in science and technology, while also supporting blind students and the top 10 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates.

This initiative by the MTN Nigeria Foundation not only advances educational opportunities for students but also serves as a beacon of hope, inspiring future generations to strive for excellence.
