NAE, ACEN Visit University of Maiduguri to Congratulate New Vice Chancellor

A joint delegation from the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) and the Association of Consulting Engineers in Nigeria (ACEN) has congratulated Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele on his recent appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID). The visit, held on October 2, 2024, at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building, was led by NAE President, Professor Rahman A. Bello.

During the visit, the delegation celebrated Professor Mele’s appointment as the 10th Vice Chancellor of UNIMAID and extended condolences for the recent floods that affected Maiduguri and its surroundings. The discussions centered on supporting local governance and infrastructure development to address the challenges posed by the natural disasters.

In his remarks, Professor Mele expressed gratitude for the visit, emphasizing the need to utilize engineering expertise to tackle the root causes of flooding in Borno State.
