National Cybersecurity Centre Launched at Bayero University, Kano

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched a state-of-the-art National Cybersecurity Centre at Bayero University, Kano (BUK).

The centre aims to enhance cybersecurity education, research, and collaboration across Nigeria.

The centre will serve as a hub for digital defense, innovation, and talent development, providing a platform for government, academia, and industry stakeholders to work together. It will support research, hands-on training, and act as a resource hub for regional and national partners.

NITDA Director-General, Mr. Kashifu Inuwa Abdubahi, described the centre as a "national asset" that will equip the nation with the tools, talent, and infrastructure needed to safeguard its digital space. Bayero University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, praised the Federal Government's investment in the university's infrastructure.

The launch marks a significant step in strengthening Nigeria's cybersecurity landscape and promoting collaboration between stakeholders.
