National Open University of Nigeria Advises Students on Course Registration

The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) has issued a statement advising students on the importance of careful course registration.
According to the university, registering for all courses listed on the student portal is not mandatory, and students should prioritize their academic well-being by registering for a manageable course load.
NOUN emphasized that registering for too many courses can lead to severe consequences, including carryovers, probation, and a low Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA). The university encouraged students to focus on achieving good grades rather than struggling with multiple courses.
The statement also reminded students that they can register for skipped courses in their 300L and 400L levels, as there will be space available. NOUN advised students to prioritize quality over quantity and to develop a well-planned study strategy to succeed academically.
The university encouraged students to seek help or guidance from their study centers or academic advisors to ensure academic success and avoid unnecessary stress.
