The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially unveiled the results of the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), marking the end of a rigorous 58-day process that began on July 10th and concluded on August 11th. This announcement was made by NECO's Registrar, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, during a press conference in Minna.

Abia State has emerged as the frontrunner in this year's results, boasting the highest percentage of candidates who achieved five credits and above, including Mathematics and English, at an impressive rate of 85.53%. Following closely is Adamawa State, which secured the second position with a commendable 51.5% performance. Regrettably, Kebbi State was at the bottom of the list with a disappointing performance of 0.310%.

Prof. Wushishi declared that this year's SSCE was an exceptional one, with 61.60% of the total candidates achieving five credits and above, including Mathematics and English. This figure translates to 737,308 candidates out of the 1,196,985 who sat for the examination. Males accounted for 616,398 of the candidates, while females made up 580,587.
