NECO Clarifies Closing Date for 2024 SSCE Internal Registration

In a recent statement issued by the National Examinations Council (NECO), the council has officially clarified that there will be no extension to the closing date for the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) internal registration. Late registration, which would incur additional fees, would be accommodated from June 4th to June 10th, according to the announcement.
The council emphasized the importance of adhering to the specified timeline and cautioned against misinformation circulating on social media platforms.
According to Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of the Directorate of Information and Digital Communication, "The council has enjoined candidates, school principals, commandants, state ministries of education, and other stakeholders to disregard social media posts purporting that the registration process has been extended to June 20."

Sani, also reiterated NECO’s commitment to maintaining the integrity and transparency of the examination process.
The 2024 SSCE internal examinations are scheduled to commence on June 19th and conclude on July 26th. Candidates will undergo assessment in a total of 76 subjects during the examination period.
