A 17-year-old student named Emmanuela Ilok has reportedly received full scholarships to pursue Software Engineering from some of the world’s most prestigious universities, including Stanford, MIT, Yale, UPenn, Princeton, and Columbia. Ilok’s academic excellence has gained national recognition, as she was honored as the country’s best in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education in Nigeria by the British Council.

Alex Onyia, an advocate for education and the CEO of Educare, shared Ilok’s remarkable achievements in a post on his X . "This is Emmanuela Ilok, the brilliant 17-year-old who received full scholarships to study Software Engineering at Stanford, MIT, Yale, UPenn, Princeton, and Columbia University," Onyia wrote.

Ilok’s academic excellence has gained national recognition, as she was honored as the country’s best in the International General Certificate of Secondary Education in Nigeria by the British Council.
Onyia also highlighted Ilok's development of software that employs Machine Learning to detect breast cancer in women, achieving an impressive 91% detection accuracy. "She built a software that uses Machine Learning to detect breast cancer in women and so far it has 91% detection accuracy," he wrote.

Onyia, also disclosed that he organized a virtual session for Ilok to advise Nigerian students on seizing similar opportunities, and was profoundly inspired by her capabilities. “After spending over an hour with her today, I can affirm that we have a superstar among us,” he remarked.
Onyia further stressed the importance of identifying and nurturing such exceptional talents, stating, "We have many hidden Emmanuelas in Nigeria, and we need to discover and support them. It’s time for Nigeria to shine."
