Nigerian Woman Earns Master's with Distinction, Secures Full-Ride PhD Scholarship in the U.S
The scholarship will allow her to study Health Behavior with a focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health at Indiana University, one of the top public health schools in the U.S.
Oluwapelumi Aleshinloye King, a Nigerian student, has earned a master's degree in Sexual, Reproductive, and Perinatal Health from Dalarna University in Sweden. She graduated with distinction and has been awarded a full-ride scholarship to pursue a Ph.D. at Indiana University School of Public Health in the United States.
Oluwapelumi, who completed her undergraduate studies in Anatomy at Olabisi Onabanjo University in Nigeria, focused her master’s research on quality improvements in healthcare settings, global sexual and reproductive health rights, and research methods in global sexual and reproductive health.

The scholarship will allow her to study Health Behavior with a focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health at Indiana University, one of the top public health schools in the U.S.
“I am pleased to announce that I have been awarded a full-ride scholarship to study a Ph.D. in Health Behavior (with a focus on Sexual and Reproductive Health) at the prestigious Indiana School of Public Health, Bloomington,” Oluwapelumi shared on Twitter.

Oluwapelumi is also a pioneer in influence marketing within the sexual and reproductive health space in Nigeria and actively promotes "ALLY," a tech initiative providing safe abortion information to young Nigerians. She is a United States global exchange fellow of the Young African Leaders Initiative RLC in Accra, where she studied civic leadership.
In addition to her academic achievements, Oluwapelumi founded The Asher Initiative, an organization that provides comprehensive sexuality education for children and their parents or guardians.
