NSUK Gets A Boost As Senator Almakura Donates Science Equipment To Faculty of Agric

In his bid to further the frontiers of agricultural education, the immediate past visitor to Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and Senator in the 9th Republic, Distinguished Senator Umaru Tanko Almakura on Saturday 3rd February 2024  donated science equipment worth millions of Naira to the Faculty of Agriculture Nasarawa State University, Shabu Campus, Lafia.

Presenting the equipment to the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Senator Almakura represented by Honorable Atose Mohammed said the donation is in recognition of the vital role that agriculture plays in the development of every country that wants to be self-sufficient in food production and agricultural security, and also for the passion he has for the agricultural sub-sector, he furthermore charged students of the faculty to avail themselves of the opportunity presented by the donation of the equipment to excel in their chosen field of academic endeavours.

Receiving the equipment the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Suleiman Bala Mohammed, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Professor Abdullahi Sallau Modibbo thanked Senator Almakura for the kind gesture, stressing that the donation will go a long way in furthering research endeavours, he assured the donor that the equipment will be judiciously utilised for the purpose it was meant for.

In his vote of thanks, the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Professor S. O. Okunsebor who appreciated Senator Almakura for the donation noted that the equipment presented will further attract scholars and researchers to the University.

Also present at the event was the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Administration of the University, Professor Theophilus Daniel Lagi.
