NSUK Inaugurates Second Students’ Representative Council for 2026 Academic Session

Nasarawa State University Keffi has inaugurated its second Students’ Representative Council (SRC), with newly appointed student leaders assuming office for the 2026 academic session following formal approval by the Vice-Chancellor, Sa’adatu Hassan Liman.

Nasarawa State University Keffi has inaugurated its second Students’ Representative Council (SRC), with newly appointed student leaders assuming office for the 2026 academic session following formal approval by the Vice-Chancellor, Sa’adatu Hassan Liman.

The council, composed of students selected for their academic performance and leadership qualities, is positioned to serve as a liaison between the student body and the university management, with a mandate to promote dialogue, stability, and student-focused development on campus.

Leading the council is Amos Gideon of the Department of Marketing as Chairman, supported by Ngidi Favour of the Department of Entrepreneurial Studies as Vice-Chairperson. Okon Offiong Miracle of the Department of Library and Information Science serves as Secretary-General, with Augustine Uchechi Favour of the Department of Theatre and Cultural Studies as Assistant Secretary-General.

Other principal officers include Victor Isreal Isonguyo as Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Omaku Musa as Treasurer, and John Monday as Auditor.

The council also features a range of directorates and committees aimed at addressing key aspects of student life. These include Transport, Sales, Socials, Sports, Business, Security, ICT, Finance, Education, Student Welfare, and Code of Conduct, each led by designated student representatives across various departments.

In his remarks, the SRC Chairman, Amos Gideon, emphasised the council’s commitment to fostering unity and constructive engagement, stating that the leadership would prioritise service delivery and peaceful collaboration within the university community.

University authorities have charged the council to act responsibly in representing student interests, encouraging members of the student body to channel concerns, proposals, and innovations through the appropriate council structures.

The inauguration signals the commencement of a new phase of student representation at the institution, with expectations that the council will play a central role in shaping campus governance and enhancing the overall student experience.
