To commemorate the 2026 World Day of Social Justice, renowned academic and advocate Dr. Vincent Paul, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Entrepreneurship Studies at Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has issued a compelling message calling for a renewed commitment to equality, dignity, and inclusive prosperity.

Reflecting the global theme for 2026, “Renewed Commitment to Social Development and Social Justice,” Dr. Paul’s message serves as a call to conscience for citizens and leaders alike to address systemic barriers that hinder human potential and social progress.

In his statement, Dr. Paul emphasized that social justice is not an abstract ideal but a practical necessity for a stable and thriving society. He reminded the “citizens of the universe” that fairness and dignity are fundamental rights that must be extended to every individual, regardless of social or economic standing.

“Social justice is about building a society where every individual whether mechanic, doctor, cleaner, or entrepreneur has equal access to opportunities, resources, and respect for human dignity,” he stated.

Drawing from his expertise in Entrepreneurship Studies, Dr. Paul highlighted the intrinsic link between economic opportunity and social equity. He advocated for a world where entrepreneurial initiatives are accessible to all, stressing that true progress is measured by the upliftment of society as a whole rather than the success of a privileged few.

He urged individuals and communities to reject discrimination, confront systemic barriers rooted in gender, race, or background, and turn away from hatred, division, and the unjust maligning of innocent members of society.

He further emphasized the need to build inclusive communities where marginalized voices are heard, respected, and empowered.
