NSUK Marks World Health Day with Community Medical Outreach to Kick Off 25th Anniversary and 8th Combined Convocation
In a significant demonstration of its commitment to corporate social responsibility, Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), through its College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, conducted a comprehensive medical outreach on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The initiative served as the official commencement of activities for the University’s 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony and landmark Silver Jubilee Anniversary.
The outreach, held at the Emir’s Palace in Keffi, was strategically designed to give back to the University’s primary host community. The program focused on enhancing public health awareness, promoting personal hygiene, and providing immediate access to essential healthcare services for local residents.

Representing the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Linkages), Associate Professor K’tso Nghargbu, formally opened the event. He noted that while NSUK remains a bastion of academic excellence, it is equally dedicated to the physical well-being of its neighbors.
"The University remains steadfast in its support for health-related initiatives," Associate Professor Nghargbu stated. "Through the rigorous training of professionals across diverse disciplines, we continue to strengthen the healthcare sector and contribute meaningfully to environmental and community health."
A key feature of the day was the provision of free medical screenings, alongside the distribution of essential medications and hygiene kits, facilitated by Professor Halima Aliyu Doma Kutigi. The event concluded with a symbolic group photograph involving university officials and community leaders, marking a successful start to the anniversary celebrations.

As NSUK celebrates 25 years of "Impact and Excellence," this outreach underscores the institution's enduring bond with the Keffi community and its role as a catalyst for regional development.
