Nasarawa State University Keffi has commenced activities for its 8th Combined Convocation Ceremony and Silver Jubilee anniversary with a medical outreach organised to mark World Health Day.

The outreach, conducted on April 7, 2026, was led by the institution’s College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences and held at the Emir’s Palace Keffi. It formed part of the university’s broader mobilisation programme for the upcoming celebrations.

The initiative was designed to support the Keffi community, the university’s host environment, through improved access to basic healthcare services and sensitisation on personal hygiene and preventive health practices.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, was represented at the event by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation and Linkages), Associate Professor K’tso Nghargbu, who commended the College for the outreach. He highlighted the significance of World Health Day and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to community-focused healthcare interventions alongside academic development.

He also noted that the institution continues to contribute to health system strengthening through the training of professionals across medical and allied disciplines, with emphasis on research and community engagement.

The programme featured free medical screenings for residents, distribution of hygiene materials, and provision of essential medications, coordinated by Professor Halima Aliyu Doma Kutigi and other medical personnel.

The event concluded with a group photograph marking the commencement of activities leading up to NSUK’s 25th anniversary and convocation celebrations.
