NSUK Strengthens Ties with Polish Embassy in Nigeria

Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has taken a significant step to consolidate its relationship with the Polish Embassy in Nigeria.

On Friday, February 14, 2025, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, led a delegation of management staff to congratulate and welcome the new Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Michaĺ Cygan.

During the visit, Professor Liman lauded the existing relationship between the Embassy and NSUK, highlighting mutual collaborations such as Memoranda of Understanding between NSUK and Polish Universities, Erasmus+ scholarships, and staff exchange programs ¹. The Vice-Chancellor also acknowledged the engagement of renowned Professor of Cross-Cultural Psychology, Pawel Boski, as an academic staff member at NSUK.

 

In response, Ambassador Cygan appreciated the Vice-Chancellor and her team for the visit, noting that the relationship between Poland and NSUK will be further strengthened. He also expressed gratitude to the university management for naming the first Institute of European Studies in Nigeria after the famous Polish Professor, Brunon Holyst.

The visit was witnessed by several dignitaries, including the Registrar, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II; the Director of the Institute of Governance and Development Studies, Professor Andrew Zamani; and the Deputy Director, Brunon Holyst Institute for European Studies, Dr. Lois Abu.

 

This development is a testament to NSUK's commitment to international collaboration and academic excellence. The university's relationship with the Polish Embassy is expected to yield more benefits for students, staff, and the academic community at large.
