Agriculture Minister Tasks Newly Inducted ABU-Trained Veterinary Doctors on Professionalism

The Honorable Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Sabi A. Abdullahi, has urged 103 newly inducted veterinary doctors from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) to uphold professionalism and selflessness in their practice.

Speaking at the induction ceremony held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the Abdullahi Mahadi Conference Centre, Senator Abdullahi emphasized the critical role veterinarians play in ensuring food security, economic development, and public health. He encouraged the new graduates to think beyond traditional veterinary practice and seek knowledge, collaboration, and innovation to drive the industry forward.

The Minister stressed that the veterinary profession is vital to Nigeria's resilient agricultural system and urged the new veterinarians to cultivate entrepreneurial mindsets, seek interdisciplinary collaboration, and develop industry skills to distinguish themselves as leaders.

Senator Abdullahi's remarks echoed the sentiments of other experts in the field, who have also emphasized the importance of professionalism and innovation in veterinary practice .
