NSUK Vice-Chancellor Seeks Enhanced Collaboration with NEMA

Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has called for increased collaboration and support from the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The request was made during her visit to the NEMA Headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
During the visit, Professor Sa'adatu expressed gratitude for NEMA's previous donation of an Automatic Weather Station to the Department of Geography in 2022. She sought further partnership in areas such as staff exchange and training, joint research initiatives, and provision of Industrial Training placements for NSUK students, emphasizing benefits for both organizations.
NEMA's Director-General, Zubaida Umar, congratulated Professor Sa'adatu on being the first female Vice-Chancellor of NSUK and praised the growing role of women in leadership. She assured that NEMA would enhance its support for the university, particularly in risk and disaster management.
The Vice-Chancellor was accompanied by key university officials, including Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration Professor Theophilus Daniel Lagi, Registrar Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, University Librarian Dr. Aliyu Abdulkadir, and Directors from the Amina Mohammed Centre for Climate Change and the Centre for Disaster and Risk Management Studies.
The collaboration aims to strengthen ties between NSUK and NEMA, fostering mutual growth and development.
