The programmes presented for verification include M.Ed. Philosophy and PhD Philosophy of Education under the Faculty of Education. From the Faculty of Science, the programmes assessed include B.Sc. The NUC verification team was formally received at the University by the Vice-Chancellor alongside the Principal Officers of the institution and Deans of the affected faculties. While welcoming the delegation, Professor Amina Salihi Bayero expressed delight at hosting the team, noting that the visit marks her first official engagement with an NUC assessment delegation since assuming office as Vice-Chancellor.
She reaffirmed the University’s preparedness for the verification exercise, stressing that NWUK remains committed to maintaining academic standards in line with regulatory requirements.
> “We warmly welcome you to Northwest University Kano. This visit is significant to us as it is the first time I am receiving an NUC delegation as the Head of this institution. We invite you to thoroughly assess our facilities, manpower, and academic resources. We are fully prepared and confident in our readiness to run these programmes,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.
The resource verification team was led by Professor Sunny Udeze, who expressed appreciation to the University management for the warm reception and cooperation extended to the delegation.
The verification exercise forms part of the NUC’s statutory responsibility to ensure Nigerian universities meet minimum academic standards before commencing new academic programmes.
The successful verification of the programmes is expected to further enhance Northwest University Kano’s drive toward academic expansion, innovation, and alignment with contemporary global educational demands.
