NUC Team visits proposed Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja
The National Universities Commission (NUC) visitation team, on Wednesday, , paid a facility assessment visit to the proposed Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja.
The team comprises Mr. Mustapha Rasheed, Deputy Director (Masterplan & Infrastructure), Mr. Abubakar Girei Deputy Director (Academic Matters), Umma Giwa-Amu, Deputy Director (Governance & Legal Matters), as well as Nkiru Agagwuncha and Oluwayemisi Adeniji who are secretariat staff.
The team was in the proposed University to assess the facilities that had been put in place before giving recommendation for the issuance of license to the University for academic activities to commence.
Speaking after assessing the facilities, the team expressed satisfaction with what it saw and commended the Promoter of the University for providing the state of the art facilities in the institution.
Among the places inspected by the team during the visit include laboratories, lecture rooms and theatres, University e and physical libraries, computer laboratory, auditorium, students’ sports centre, and functional water supply system.
Others are students’ hostels, staff offices, and staff quarters as well as the University clinic, among other places.
Also present during the visit were the Promoter of the Proposed University, Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Chairman, Planning and Implementation Committee (PIC) of the Proposed University, Dr. Nura A. Yaro, Secretary of the Committee, Dr. Shu’aibu Usman Tanko and other members of the committee.
Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja, is one of the four Universities founded by Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.
