The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced a new fee structure for the collection of unclaimed certificates of national service. The move aims to streamline the process and encourage the retrieval of outstanding certificates.

According to the NYSC’s new fee schedule:

  • For certificates unclaimed for less than five years, the fee is ₦5,000.
  • For certificates unclaimed between five and nine years, the fee is ₦1,000.
  • For certificates unclaimed for ten years or more, the fee is ₦200.

This updated fee structure is part of NYSC’s efforts to address the backlog of unclaimed certificates and to make the retrieval process more accessible for former corps members. The announcement comes as part of the NYSC’s broader initiatives to improve service delivery and support for past participants of the national service program.
