Brigadier General YD Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has advised Corps Members to prioritize their safety by avoiding night travel both at the end of the orientation camp and throughout their service year. Speaking during a visit to the Jigawa camp, he warned of the dangers of traveling at night when drivers’ visibility is compromised. The Director General urged Corps Members to break long journeys when necessary to ensure their safety.

General Ahmed also encouraged Corps Members to fully participate in all camp activities, particularly the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program, which is vital for their empowerment during and after their service year.

In his address, the NYSC Jigawa State Coordinator, Mallam Jidda Dawut, informed the Director General that the Corps Members have displayed a high level of discipline and are actively engaging in all camp programs. He mentioned the need for a new generator to support the camp’s power supply, as the existing one is outdated. Mallam Dawut also praised the Jigawa State Government for its continuous support of the NYSC in the state.

The event was graced by Hon. Sagir Ahmed, Chairman of the NYSC Governing Board and Commissioner for Information, alongside other officials from the ministry.
