OGITECH Acting Registrar Elected Secretary General of COREG

The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, has congratulated its Acting Registrar, Dr. Sakirat Olajumoke Wasiu Johnson, on her election as Secretary General of the Conference of Registrars of Polytechnics and Colleges of Technology in Nigeria (COREG).

Dr. Johnson emerged as Secretary General during the association's national executive election held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

The institution described her election as a reflection of her exemplary leadership, administrative competence, dedication and outstanding contributions to tertiary education administration.

Reacting to the development, the Rector of OGITECH, Dr. Abiodun Babatunde Oluseye, described the achievement as a significant milestone for both Dr. Johnson and the institution.

He said her emergence as Secretary General of COREG demonstrates her commitment to institutional development and higher education governance in Nigeria.

According to the Rector, the election also brings national recognition to OGITECH and highlights the institution's strength in academic and administrative leadership.

As Secretary General of COREG, Dr. Johnson is expected to coordinate administrative policy frameworks, promote collaboration among registry departments in Nigerian polytechnics and colleges of technology, and contribute to advancing excellence in the technical education sector.

The management, staff and students of OGITECH wished Dr. Johnson a successful tenure, expressing confidence that her leadership would foster meaningful reforms, strengthen collaboration and promote further progress within COREG.
