The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) has disclosed that out of the 35 sanctioned corps members, 21 will face an extension of their service year, while the remaining 14 are required to repeat the entire service. This decision underscores the NYSC’s strict adherence to its rules and regulations.

Mrs. Obiageli Okpalifo, the State Coordinator for the NYSC in Bayelsa, informed NAN that despite these disciplinary measures, the majority of the corps members had a successful completion of their service year. A total of 1,075 young graduates were awarded their certificates of national service, marking their official transition from corps members to active contributors to the nation’s workforce.

The State Coordinator also extended her gratitude to the employers and traditional rulers in the host communities for creating a supportive environment that enabled the corps members to fulfill their service obligations effectively.
