Members of Staff of the National Youth Service Corps in Lagos State were recently taken on a refresher workshop on the operations of the Corps Discipline and Reward branch at the NYSC Lagos Secretariat in Surulere.  

Myschoolnews gathered he workshop which aims to improve the operations of the scheme at the State level and to expedite actions on same was carried out by Mr. Enoch Ishayu, an Assistant Director, Corps Welfare and Health Services Department of the National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.

Delivering her remarks during the workshop, State Coordinator NYSC Lagos, Mrs Yetunde Baderinwa, hailed the conduct of the exercise, stating that the workshop is necessary for officials of the scheme who handle corps disciplinary issues from the field office to the State Secretariat as they will be more informed on the job.

 She also used the avenue to call all other Departments at the National Directorate Headquarters to carry out a similar arrangement in order to have officers armed with the necessary information to enhance their professionalism on the job.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ishayu hinted that the bye law which is a disciplinary instrument of the scheme for corps members is under review and will be available very soon.

He tasked the officials to attend to issues bordering on corps discipline with meticulousity, while also carrying out some expositions on the areas in the operations that need to be handled with seriousness.
