The event took place at the Peace and Tourism Arena of the NYSC Temporary Orientation Camp, WAYE Foundation, Doi-Du, Jos South LGA. Mr. Yavala emphasized that the sporting events are intended to promote unity rather than competition. “It is a sporting event, not a do-or-die affair; therefore, there should be no injuries. All of you are one,” he stated.

He encouraged the Corps Members to embrace the spirit of sportsmanship, reminding them that regardless of the outcome, they are all winners. The Head of Sports, Mr. Dung Bature, echoed this sentiment, urging participants to play safely and remember that sports are meant to help them stay fit throughout their service year.

In the day's matches, 9 Platoon emerged victorious over 1 Platoon in football with a score of 3-1, while 2 Platoon defeated 7 Platoon in volleyball by 2 sets to 1.
